Chairman Krause Statement - Fort Hood Murders

"As a retired military officer that still works around soldiers, I wish to express my grief and shock over today's massacre of soldiers at Fort Hood, Texas. Those that I work around immediately prepared for contingencies when the news broke. My prayers are with the friends and families of the dead, as well as the wounded soldiers and their families and friends tonight. As we approach Veterans Day next week, I ask that all Iowans involved with or attending a memorial service take up a special collection for these brave soldiers and their families.

IDVC Vision:
By the Year 2010, the Iowa Democratic Veterans' Caucus will be the recognized voice for veterans and their families within the Iowa Democratic Party and IDVC will act as the voice of Democrats in the Veterans' community by setting the IDP legislative and policy agenda for issues affecting Veterans, their families and their communities.

The immediate goal of this group is to establish a network of county veterans' caucuses with a veterans' liaison as a function of the County's Democratic Central Committee. These county veterans' groups will work through the Districts' and state leadership to elevate issues affecting veterans and their families within the Iowa Democratic Party.
