  • Hi, Bob! I'm just getting started and you're leaving. Best wishes.

I've been active with veterans issues (including my own situation) for some time, now, but this is my first opportunity to address things in a more-or-less official capacity. I'm looking forward to it! One of my major concerns is keeping the Knoxville VA open. It's not excess--we need the services offered here, in one of the VA's existing premier mental health centers, not somewhere else. Thanks for your work!

    Take care and God Bless,

  • Thanks for the invitation, Bob. Unfortunately I won't be able to attend in Des Moines, but I'm proud to be a part of this group and want you to continue to keep me up to date on IDVC activities and how those in the state legislature can shine a light on the challenges and needs of our veterans. We need to continue to advocate for our Vets and their families.

  • Thank you Sir! I look forward to meeting everyone this weekend and hope I can be of some assistance in promoting your agenda and recruiting new members. There are so many veterans who remain silent........h oping for a voice to speak out for them. Thanks for all you do.

  • Thanks so much for lunch the other day, Bob. Please tell Vickie that it was delicious. Would you mind emailing me (rsquire@chrisd odd.com) the details about the Des Moines press conference so I can pass them on to the right people? Also, please let me know the four points of the Veterans Caucus Platform. Thanks, and again, I really appreciate your having me over.

  • Hi Bob,
Thanks for your message. I meet Kent Sovern at the Veterans and Military Families for Progress conference in Sept and he told me about your organization. I live in Manassas VA and have a son who is in the Virginia National Guard- Army Specialist. This is his second tour and thankfully he is Kuwait this time. All eyes are on Iowa. Good luck with making our message known to the candidates. Check out VMFP sometime. www.vmfp.org Best Regard, Pat
